The journal is welcoming original, high-quality regular research papers, reviews, short communications on the fundamental principles of colloid and interface science, as well as new applications in advanced functional materials, nanomedicine, drug delivery, energy generation and storage, environmental sustainability, catalysis, electrochemistry, food, pharmaceutical, personal care, and cosmetic products, and related fields.

JCIS Open is the only gold open access journal dedicated on promoting colloids and interface science, all research articles are freely available via the Internet upon publication to maximize the readership.

Criteria for publication in JCIS Open are, as for the sister colloid journals, novelty, quality, originality and current interest.

Manuscripts which only make routine use of or minor extensions to well established methodologies will not be appropriate for the journal.
