Aims & Scope

DAT is the only journal which seeks to expose the causal links between policy and different health and public safety problems.

The journal considers ‘drug problems’ internationally as a product of prohibitionist policies as much as of the drugs themselves.

Articles are peer-reviewed, accessible and relevant to a wide and varied audience.

Issues combine research with discussion of policy and views from practitioners and users.

Drugs are an international problem and this is reflected in the content.

Intended as a tool to assist in the search for better solutions, DAT covers but is not limited to: Harm reduction models and concepts Innovative treatments for problem use and addictions New findings into patterns of use, new drugs and new combinations Drugs and treatment in prison settings Practitioner and service user perspectives.
