Etiology and Pathogenesis of Diabetes o Type 1 diabetes mellitus: autoimmune system defects; genetic factors; environmental factors o Type 2 diabetes: impaired insulin secretion; insulin resistance; genetic factors; environmental factors o Etiology and pathogenesis of gestational diabetes mellitus and other specific types 3.

Pathophysiology of Diabetes o Type 1 diabetes mellitus: glucose metabolism; lipid metabolism; protein metabolism o Type 2 diabetes mellitus: normal glucose tolerance; impaired glucose tolerance; glucose tolerance; minimal fasting hyperglycemia; overt fasting hyperglycemia o Pathophysiology of gestational diabetes mellitus and other specific types 4.
