Aims & Scope
As an official clinical journal of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Current Sports Medicine Reports is unique in its focus entirely on the clinical aspects of sports medicine.
This peer-reviewed journal harnesses the tremendous scientific and clinical resources of ACSM to develop articles reviewing recent and important advances in the field that have clinical relevance.
The journal’s goal is to translate the latest research and advances in the field into information physicians can use in caring for their patients.
To accomplish this goal, the journal divides the broad field of sports medicine into 12 sections, each headed by a physician editor with extensive practical experience in that area.
The current sections include: Head, Neck, and Spine - General Medical Conditions - Chest and Abdominal Conditions - Environmental Conditions - Sideline and Event Management - Training, Prevention, and Rehabilitation - Exercise is Medicine- Nutrition & Ergogenic Aids - Extremity and Joint Conditions - Sport-specific Illness and Injury - Competitive Sports - Special Populations
