Aims & Scope

Clinical & Translational Metabolism is an international journal aimed at integrating new research from clinical and translational science in all areas of metabolism.

In addition to classical aspects of metabolism such as the biochemical and physiological processes that underlie metabolism, energy homeostasis, and the regulation of nutrient balance, the journal also seeks to highlight advances in the integration of these areas in the broader context of whole organism physiology and clinical medicine from areas such as cancer, mitochondrial diseases, cardiovascular health, musculoskeletal health, endocrinology, and regenerative medicine.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following topics: -Energy metabolism and its regulation in health and disease- Metabolic regulation and signaling pathways in cardiovascular biology- Hormonal regulation of metabolism- Mechanisms involved in the regulation of bone formation and resorption- The metabolism of nutrients - Metabolic adaptations in response to environmental changes- Metabolic disorders such as diabetes, obesity, and metabolic syndrome- Mitochondrial metabolism and its role in cellular function and disease- Metabolomics and other omics technologies for studying metabolism- Metabolism in cancer research
