Aims & Scope
The mission of BMEF is to serve the multidisciplinary community of biomedical engineering by publishing breakthrough original Research Articles, Rapid Reports, Reviews, Perspectives, and Editorials.
The journal’s audience includes basic and applied researchers, engineers, and clinicians investigating pathogenic mechanisms of disease, as well as strategies for disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and assessment.
Appropriate research integrates physical, chemical, mathematical, or computational sciences with engineering principles to study biology and advance medicine and human health.
Competitive studies apply innovative fundamental or translational concepts to develop devices, systems, processes, or methods.
The scope of BMEF includes such topics as: • Biomedical imaging: biomedical devices, biological signal processing. • Biomedical sensing: biosensors, bioelectronics, biochips, microfluid chips. • Biomaterials and nanomedicine: tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, bio-microtechnology and bio-nanotechnology. • Translational medicine: precision medicine, diagnostics, clinical trials, immunotherapy, cell therapy and other new therapeutic methods. • AI for advanced biomedical applications. • Other advanced technology in biomedical engineering: neuro-engineering, neurorobotics, surgical robotics, assistive devices and other new technology in the context of human health or healthcare.
