Aims & Scope

APL Energy is a multidisciplinary journal that welcomes the most significant and exciting scientific developments related to energy and the integration of different energy technologies. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including:

Storage and harvesting of energy, such as batteries, capacitors, supercapacitors, solar energy storage, thermal energy storage, hydrogen storage, superconducting magnetic energy, renewable heating and cooling, photovoltaics, nanogenerators, electromagnetics, piezoelectrics, piezophototronics, ferroelectrics, triboelectrics, thermoelectronics, and natural resources.

Conversion and generation of energy, including fuel cells and electrolyzers, bioenergy, catalysis, photocatalysis (solar fuels and water splitting), electrocatalysis, photoelectrochemicals, CO2 and other greenhouse gas remediation, advances in H2 generation, and advanced nuclear energy. The journal also explores hybrid energy systems, such as PiezoCatalytic, ElectroMagnetic, SolarKinetic, PyroElectric, ThermoElectric, TriboElectric, PhotoPiezoElectric, IOT Devices, self-powered devices, wearables, spintronics, and quantum computers.

APL Energy also focuses on materials for energy, including novel materials, materials stability, synthesis and characterization protocols and standards, in-situ and in-operando characterization. Additionally, the journal covers renewable energy and sustainability, such as green chemistry, circular economy, carbon capture, nanotoxicology, sustainability, recyclability, and CO2 management. Other topics of interest include innovation in energy, power systems, materials and device stability, lifetime protocols and standards, acceleration analysis for lifespan assessment, and novel methods for the scaleup of the synthesis and fabrication of materials and devices for energy.
