Aims & Scope

Althea Medical Journal is a peer-reviewed and open access journal that focuses on promoting important research in medical and health sciences related to aging-related diseases, wellness, and healthy lifestyle which includes neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, immune system disorders, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Aging-related diseases are illnesses and conditions that occur more frequently in people as they get older, meaning age is a significant risk factor.

Examples of aging-related disease are cardiovascular diseases, strokes, hypertension, cancer, type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and hearing loss.

Wellness is the state of being in good physical and mental health.

These include social connectedness, exercise, nutrition, sleep and mindfulness.
