Aims & Scope
A significant and growing portion of the general population suffers from various types of allergies, leading to distress and a reduced quality of life for affected individuals, as well as substantial costs for society. It is important to note that allergies often coexist with other medical conditions. Common comorbidities in allergy patients include anxiety, depression, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and obesity, particularly in those with difficult-to-treat or severe asthma. It is recommended to actively manage these comorbidities in allergy patients, as they can contribute to symptom burden, impair quality of life, and result in medication interactions. Additionally, certain comorbidities can negatively impact asthma control. Moreover, there is a growing concern regarding allergy-related comorbidities, as evidenced by the increasing number of relevant articles published each year. However, there is a lack of professional journals dedicated to allergy-related comorbidities for effective professional communication. Allergy Medicine: International Journal of Allergy and Comorbidities, the official journal of the Chinese Research Hospital Association (CRHA), aims to fill this gap by publishing new research, reviews, and case studies in basic, clinical, and translational medicine, focusing on allergic science and the field of allergy comorbidity and multimorbidity. The journal emphasizes the mechanisms, preventive measures, and treatment strategies associated with these conditions, providing a professional platform for a comprehensive, up-to-date, and in-depth understanding of allergy medicine.
