Aims & Scope

The journal of Technology Assisted Language Education (TALE) aims to advance the understanding and practice of language acquisition through the integration of technology.

We welcome high-quality research articles that explore innovative approaches and developments in the field of technology-enhanced language learning and teaching.

Manuscripts should emphasize language acquisition and provide a robust theoretical foundation.

Articles that do not prioritize language acquisition will not be considered.

Research Methodology: Submissions must follow rigorous research methodologies supported by solid theoretical frameworks.

We encourage experimental and observational studies over systematic literature reviews, surveys, or pilot studies.

Innovative Approaches: We seek manuscripts that explore cutting-edge technologies and their applications in language education, including but not limited to: Game-based Language Learning Artificial Intelligence in Language Education Machine Translation and Language Pedagogy Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in Language Learning Gamification in Language Education Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) Broader Applicability: Research should demonstrate implications for language acquisition that extend beyond the specific context of the study, showcasing the potential for broader applicability and generalizability.

Justification for Technology Use: The abstract should clearly justify the use of technology and present a solid argument supporting the research question.

Contribution to the Field: Articles should extend previous research by including up-to-date citations to relevant publications, particularly those from TALE.

By adhering to these guidelines, TALE aims to publish research that significantly contributes to the field of technology-assisted language education and supports the development of innovative teaching and learning practices.
