Aims & Scope

The historical journal Res Gestae accepts articles pertaining to all historical topics.

We cover all historical periods ranging from Antiquity, the Middle Ages, Early-Modern Period, nineteenth and twentieth centuries, all the way to the contemporary era.

Our journal is a medium where results of the most recent studies are published, but also a place where these results are discussed, resulting in intellectual exchange and polemics.

Res Gestae was established in 2015 as a continuation of the journals Prace historyczne (1962-1999) and Studia historica (2000-2013), which were published by the Pedagogical University of Kraków, formerly known as the Higher Pedagogical School/Academy.

Our journal is indexed in the following databases: BazHum, Central and East European Online Library, Index Copernicus International and The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Since the beginning of 2023 the journal Res Gestae is also indexed in ERIH PLUS (European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences).

Since 2024 the journal is indexed in Scopus. “Res Gestae.

Historical Journal” appears twice a year.

The papers submitted by the end of January are considered for publication in the summer issue (published in June), while those submitted by the end of August are considered for the autumn issue (published in December).
